Following
on from Scotland 1, we sail from Oban
across
the Firth of Lorn to the Isle of Mull. Passing
Duart Castle,
we journey to Craignure and
by bus to Fionnphort on Mull.
Here we catch a small
ferry to the tiny historical island of Iona.
Such a beautiful place. On
Iona we visit the Augustinian Nunnery and
the Ionian Abbey
and wander through the pretty village. Back on the mainland we pass Stalker Castle
in Portnacroish and Loch Leven on the way to Glencoe, where snow is on the
truly awesome mountains.
From there it's up to Loch
Linnhe and
Fort William with a view of Ben Nevis. Through Braemar,
with a view of Braemar
Castle, we
pass Balmoral, the River Dee, Loch
Alsh and Eilean Donan Castle. And,
I can never forget, the Bluebells
of Scotland.
